Bodie / Bodey, 2020

This work draws inspiration from two locations, at the Eastern and Western edge of the United States. Mallows Bay is a graveyard of ghost ships and lies at the mouth of the Potomac River just outside of Washington DC. Bodie, California is gold-rush era town which once was bustling and now lies as a mummified remnant of California’s recent past. These two disjointed histories frame a dissonance of changing landscapes, morphing anthropocenic and ecological time. Made for to be presented as an immersive audio-visual installation, Bodie / Bodey draws the viewer into a multi-dimensional experience. Music is by Maneesh Raj Madahar.
